Sunday Flower

I came up with this pattern on a Sunday, so that's where the pattern name comes from. Crocheting flowers is a pretty good thing to do on Sundays :)

The flower has a compact design, so it won't loose the shape so easy. It works perfect as decoration on another crochet piece or for example for making a garland.

MATERIAL

Yarn used : Järbo 8/4 (Mercerised cotton, 4 ply, fingering weight).
Hook: 2,5 mm

ABBREVIATIONS, US CROCHET TERMS

st - stitch
sl st - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
() repeat 5 times - repeat what's inside the brackets 5 times
[] - stitches inside the brackets are made in the same stitch

DESCRIPTION

(Crochet diagram below)

The first sc on each round = ch 1 or a standing sc.
Join rounds with a sl st or an invisible join.

Image 1 - 4

Start with a magic ring.

Round 1:
Make 10 sc in the magic ring.  (10 sc, image 1)

Round 2:
Start in any sc. ([1 sc, 1 dc] in next st, [1 dc, 1 sc] in next st) repeat 5 times.  (5 groups of {1 sc, 2 dc, 1 sc}, image 2 )

Round 3:
Start in any sc made before a dc. (1 sc , [1 hdc, 1 dc] in next st, [1 dc, 1 hdc] in next st, 1 sc) repeat 5 times. (5 groups of {1 sc, 1 hdc, 2 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc}, image 3 )

Round 4:
Start in any sc made after a hdc. (1 sc, 1 sl st into the sc directly below from round 1, 1 sc each in the next 5 st) repeat 5 times.  (5 groups of  {6 sc, 1 sl st}, image 4 )

Fasten off and weave in the ends.

  5. The florist and her dynamic team are highly responsive, attentive to detail, and friendly. I've had the pleasure of ordering three separate arrangements from them and the Same Day Flower Delivery NYC is consistently loved.
